Integrative Healing, Genetics, & Lab Testing
Combining targeted functional labs and genetic testing offers a window into what is happening in real-time in the body. The goal is to identify imbalances and healing opportunities so we can support your body to optimal health.
Why This Approach Is So Effective

I take a whole-person approach, looking at genetics, targeted bloodwork, and functional lab tests to understand what your body truly needs to thrive. Rather than just managing symptoms, I’ll help you identify the root causes and support your digestion, hormones, nutrients, and detox pathways to bring your body back into balance. Using genetic and functional testing to guide the process, we’ll create personalized food, lifestyle, and supplementation protocols so you can heal as efficiently and effectively as possible.
Many people are taking supplements and eating in a way they think they should, but if it’s not what’s right for your body, those things may not be helping and can even cause more damage. By utilizing genetic and functional tests, we can make sure that what you’re eating and taking is helping you to heal… not causing more harm or going to waste.

The Process
We can evaluate a wide range of bodily systems by looking at your individual genetics along with bloodwork, urine metabolites, gut, and hormone testing. While we can’t change your DNA, genetic testing reveals your unique tendencies and shows us how we can influence gene expression. Functional labs provide a real-time snapshot of what’s happening in the body, giving us the data we need to create a personalized protocol thaw will help to optimize your health.

Foundational Support
We begin by using your genetics and targeted functional labs to identify key imbalances and strengthen your foundation through essential nutrients, supportive supplements, and food and lifestyle based medicine. From there, we support core systems, including digestion, hormones, neurotransmitters, and detoxification pathways. I then create a personalized protocol designed specifically to address the imbalances in your unique body.

Detox Support
Supporting your detoxification pathways is essential during any healing process. When these pathways aren’t functioning well, it can wreak havoc on the body. When they are functioning well, your body can effectively clear unwanted toxins, chemicals, pathogens, and metals and properly metabolize excess hormones and neurotransmitters. Supporting these detox pathways prepares your body for deeper healing while keeping the process safe and effective.

Hormones
When appropriate, we can take a deeper look at balancing your hormones, including both sex and stress hormones. We’ll evaluate not only your hormone levels but also how they’re being metabolized, helping us identify the most effective ways to restore balance. It’s important to understand that hormone health and gut health are deeply interconnected and supporting one naturally benefits the other.

Gut Health
Gut health is essential to our overall well-being as it affects many essential functions and systems in the body. A healthy microbiome is foundational to nutrient absorption, neurotransmitter production, hormones and hormone metabolism, detoxification, and many other functions in the body. Restoring balance and building resilience in the gut by addressing pathogens, microbial imbalance, and leaky gut is key to overcoming a wide variety of chronic health challenges.
Functional Lab Tests
We correlate genetics with all the other functional testing to get a better picture of what’s actually happening in the body.

Genetic Testing
Genetic testing allows us to see what genes someone is born with. Keep in mind, just because certain gene mutations are present doesn’t mean that it’s active or that that particular challenge will ever show up. There’s much we can do to influence how genes express or don’t express themselves.

Bloodwork
A comprehensive bloodwork panel is a great representation of what systems and organs are working well and which ones need support. We’re seeking to move your numbers into an optimal range (not just a normal range) so you can truly reclaim vibrant health.

Organic Acid Test
Organic acids shows us a wide range of metabolites representing how things are functioning with your gut, detoxification, neurotransmitters, nutrient metabolism, energy production, and so much more.

DUTCH Hormone Test
The DUTCH test shows us how sex hormones and adrenal/stress hormones are doing including both the levels and how hormones are being broken down or metabolized.

Methylation Panel
This panel gives us an in depth look at what is happening with the methylation cycle, which is an important detoxification pathway in the body. Many people with chronic illness are experiencing challenges with detoxification. Using a test such as this allows us to pinpoint where the shortcomings are in the cycle so we can offer specific, individualized support.

Copper Zinc Test
A copper zinc test is helpful in determining how these nutrients are performing in the body. Copper toxicity and copper deficiency can both cause a host of challenges in the body and zinc is an ultra important nutrient for many bodily processes and also helps to balance copper.

GI Map
The GI MAP is a stool test that gives us a comprehensive view of what is happening in the gut with pathogens, beneficial microbes, viruses including h pylori, leaky gut, and so much more.

Biome Fx
The BiomeFx is a functional microbiome test that analyzes the genetics of your gut bacteria. Using whole genome sequencing, it provides a comprehensive view of the diversity of beneficial species, identifies bacterial imbalances or pathogens, and evaluates the gut’s production of key vitamins, antioxidants, and short-chain fatty acids that protect gut health. This detailed insight allows us to develop targeted strategies to support your microbiome and promote gut healing.

SIBO Breath Test
When appropriate, there is a lactulose breath test that helps to identify if SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) is present, and if so, which type someone is dealing with.
