Integrative Healing, Genetics, & Lab Testing

Combining functional and genetic testing offers a window into what’s actually happening in your body. The goal is to identify imbalances and healing opportunities so we can support your body to optimal health.

Why This Approach Is So Effective

We’ll take a whole-person approach, looking at your genetics, targeted bloodwork, and functional lab tests to understand what your body truly needs to thrive. Rather than just managing symptoms, I’ll help you identify the root causes and support your digestion, hormones, nutrients, and detox pathways to bring your body back into balance. Using genetic and functional testing to guide the process, we’ll create your personalized food, lifestyle, and supplementation protocols so you can heal as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Many people are taking supplements and eating in a way they think they should, but if it’s not what’s right for your body, those things may not be helping and can even cause more damage. By utilizing genetic and functional tests, we can make sure that what you’re eating and taking is helping you to heal… not causing more harm or going to waste.

The Process

We evaluate a wide range of systems in the body using bloodwork and urine metabolites along with gut, hormone, and genetic testing. While we can’t change your DNA, genetic testing reveals your unique tendencies and shows us how we can influence gene expression. Functional labs provide a real-time snapshot of what’s happening in the body, giving us the data we need to create a personalized protocol for your optimal health.

Foundations

We start by utilizing genetics and specific functional labs to identify imbalances and strengthen your foundation with essential nutrients. We’ll support key systems like digestion, hormones, neurotransmitters, and detoxification pathways. I then  create a protocol tailored to address the imbalances that are present in your unique body.

Detox Support

During this phase, we’ll review your blood markers and implement practices to support Phase 3 detoxification before focusing on hormone and gut balance. Properly functioning detox pathways are essential at this stage, as they prepare your body for deeper healing and ensure the process is safe and effective.

Hormones

After your Foundations Protocol is on board, we turn our attention to hormones, including both sex and stress hormones. We’ll look not only at your hormone levels, but also how they’re being metabolized so we can identify ways to bring them into better balance. It’s important to note that our hormones and gut are closely interconnected and what we do to support one system, also helps the other.

Gut Health

Once you’ve established nourishing food and lifestyle practices, are supporting your detoxification pathways, and your labs are trending in the right direction, it’s time to dive deeper. This phase focuses on balancing and healing your gut, addressing any remaining pathogens, gut dysbiosis, or underlying dysfunction.

Functional Lab Tests

We correlate genetics with all the other functional testing  to get a better picture of what’s happening in the body in real time.

Genetic Testing

Genetic Testing

Genetic testing allows us to see what genes someone is born with. Keep in mind, just because certain gene mutations are present doesn’t mean that it’s active or that that particular challenge will ever show up. There’s much we can do to influence how genes express or don’t express themselves.

Blood Testing

Bloodwork

A comprehensive bloodwork panel is a great representation of what systems and organs are working well and which ones need support. We’re seeking to move your numbers into an optimal range (not just a normal range) so you can truly reclaim vibrant health.

Organic Acid Test

Organic Acid Test

Organic acids shows us a wide range of metabolites representing how things are functioning with your gut, detoxification, neurotransmitters, nutrient metabolism, energy production, and so much more.

DUTCH Hormone Test

The DUTCH test shows us how sex hormones and adrenal/stress hormones are doing including both the levels and how hormones are being broken down or metabolized.

GI Map

The GI MAP is a stool test that gives us a comprehensive view of what is happening in the gut with pathogens, beneficial microbes, viruses including h pylori, leaky gut, and so much more.

SIBO Breath Test

When necessary, we use a lactulose breath test to identify if SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) is present and if so, which type someone is dealing with.

Copper Zinc Test

A copper zinc test is helpful in determining how these nutrients are performing in the body. Copper toxicity and copper deficiency can both cause a host of challenges in the body and zinc is an ultra important nutrient for many bodily processes and also helps to balance copper.

Methylation Panel

This panel gives us an in depth look at what is happening with the methylation cycle, which is an important detoxification pathway in the body. Many people with chronic illness are experiencing challenges with detoxification. Using a test such as this allows us to pinpoint where the shortcomings are in the cycle so we can offer specific, individualized support.
